Get Involved with an SDABA Committee
SDABA committees give members a direct way to shape the programs, conversations and priorities that matter to South Dakota agribusiness. Committee members share their experience, bring forward ideas and help the association respond to the needs of the businesses it serves.
How Committees Work
Employees of SDABA member companies are eligible to serve on committees. Individuals interested in serving should complete the committee interest form. The SDABA Board of Directors appoints committee members for renewable two-year terms and appoints a chair to preside over each committee.
Committees bring member experience and ideas to SDABA’s programs and priorities. SDABA staff coordinate meetings, work with committee chairs on agendas and support committee projects and follow-up.
Most committee meetings will be held virtually, with in-person meetings scheduled when appropriate. Meeting schedules will reflect each committee’s work and may change over time.
Our committees
Ag Expo Committee
Helps guide the direction of SDABA’s annual Ag Expo, including educational programming, exhibitor and attendee experiences, sponsorship opportunities and ways to make the event valuable for member companies and their teams.
Grain Committee
Addresses issues affecting grain elevators, handlers and shippers, as well as matters related to feed. It provides industry insight on grain and feed policy, transportation, rail service, regulatory matters and other concerns facing South Dakota’s businesses. The committee also helps plan the Elevator Safety, Maintenance and Compliance Seminar. Appointments are made in accordance with SDABA’s bylaws.
Agronomy Committee
Helps shape agronomy education and professional development, including the annual Agronomy Conference. The committee identifies emerging topics, practical training needs and opportunities to connect agronomists, crop advisers and ag retailers with useful information.
Legislative Committee
Provides member perspectives on proposed legislation, regulations and public policy affecting South Dakota agribusiness. The committee helps identify advocacy priorities and provides recommendations for SDABA PAC candidate endorsements and campaign contributions.
Membership Committee
Helps SDABA strengthen the value of membership and its connection with businesses across the state. The committee offers ideas for member recruitment, retention, engagement and communication.

Committees serve in an advisory capacity. The Board retains final authority over association policy, finances, contracts and public positions.
