Our Mission:
The South Dakota Agri-Business Association (SDABA) is a state-wide trade association that advocates for a sustainable agri-business climate through collaborative policy leadership, continuous education, and effective communication.
Who We Are:
SDABA member companies and their employees are committed to supplying modern agriculture the basic needs and essential support to grow South Dakota’s number one industry. Members include businesses in manufacturing, wholesale and retail which represent business sectors including agronomic inputs (crop protection, plant nutrition and seed) livestock feed and nutrition, grain marketing and operations, equipment, and agribusiness related services. With more than 550 members, SDABA is the leading advocate for South Dakota agricultural businesses.
Goals and Objectives:
- Promote and encourage the safe and environmentally sound handling of grain, plant nutrients and crop protection products.
- Ensure growers and consumers have the technologies they need to protect crops, communities, and ecosystems from the threat of pests, weeds, and diseases in an environmentally sustainable way
- Educate and influence public officials and strategic partners on public policy issues affecting members.
- Deliver focused educational programs and resources that meet member needs.
History
1962: The South Dakota Fertilizer Association was incorporated
1971: The name was changed to the South Dakota Fertilizer and Ag Chemical Association
2002: The name was changed to the South Dakota Agri-Business Association (SDABA)
2022: The South Dakota Grain and Feed Association merged with SDABA making the largest association in South Dakota representing ag retailers and elevators and those companies who support them.
